Happy New Year and warmest greetings as we begin the year 2019!
2018 was a fruitful year for 3E Accounting Singapore. We are on track to deliver value to all stakeholders where we saw our hard work result in the achievement of several important milestones. On the world economy front, looking back at 2018, the world situation was full of challenges due to increased global uncertainties. Nevertheless, Singapore managed to weather through the uncertainties and achieves sustainable economic growth. According to Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, Singapore’s economy grew by 3.3% in 2018. The gross domestic product (GDP) of fourth quarter recorded growth at 2.2% year on year, amid stronger external headwinds. Despite rising trade conflicts, nervous financial markets and signs of economic slowdown, Singaporean economy is expected to see moderate growth between 1.5% and 3.5% in 2019.
Singapore’s FY2019 Budget Statement
The Singapore Budget Statement 2019 , which will also set out Singapore’s strategic financial plan, is set to be delivered on Monday, Feb 18, by Minister for Finance, Heng Swee Keat, in Parliament. As usual, there will be live television and radio coverage of the annual event. On top of that, a live webcast of the delivery of the Budget Statement will also be available on the Singapore Budget website. Public can view the full Budget Statement will also go up on the website after the official announcement. Personal Income Tax Filing Season
As the tax season nears, we would like to remind you that annual personal tax returns for Year 2018 must be filed with IRAS by 15 April 2019. For employer, you will need to prepare Form IR8A and Appendix 8A, Appendix 8B or Form IR8S (where applicable) for all your employees by 1 March each year.
Office Closure During Chinese New Year Holiday
During Chinese New Year holidays, our office will be closed from (Monday) 4 Feb 2019 to (Thursday) 7 Feb 2019. Our partners, directors, and staff will have limited access to the emails on the aforementioned dates and all emails will be attended to once we resume operations on 8 Feb 2019.
At an organizational level, 3E Accounting Singapore is growing and expanding. We look forward to entering this New Year with our partners and the global community with a renewed commitment and improved services.
